Join me in a single evening session for quick gift-making!
This cute apron goes together in a flash. I'll provide a pattern for you, along with instruction and suggestions for customizing. (Hint: Angled pockets are fabulous.) Samples are made from two layers of quilting cotton, but you can use a single layer of duck cloth, canvas, denim, or other sturdy fabric. Cotton is highly recommended as it cleans up nicely - polyester will hang onto those oil splatters for dear life.
You bring your own materials (pre-shrunk please):
- 1 yard for outer layer
- 1 yard for lining, optional but recommended if you are using lightweight fabrics
- 3 yards 1" cotton webbing, single package of extra-wide double-fold bias tape, or 1" grosgrain ribbon. DO NOT USE SATIN RIBBON!!
- Thread for sewing
Optional upgrades - samples do not have but would be great ways to personalize:
- Trim like rick-rack, fringe, lace, or applique
- A side-clasp buckle or pair of D-rings for the webbing, if yours is too stiff to tie
Also bring your sewing machine/pedal and favorite tools like shears and ships. I have extras on hand of most tools.
